Sunday, October 20, 5pm - 7pm Seven-Time Detroit Music Awards "Outstanding Jazz Vocalist" Winner SHEILA LANDIS presents "THE ELEGANCE OF ELLINGTON" accompanied by these fine Detroit musicians:   RICK MATLE: Guitar CHRIS CODISH: Keyboard/Keyboard Bass KAREN TOMALIS: Drums GEORGE "SAX" BENSON: Tenor and Alto Saxophones   Edward Kennedy "Duke" Ellington set the standard as a legendary band leader, pianist and composer. His classic Jazz repertoire was sophisticated, romantic and still swings like crazy. Landis and her troupe dig into chestnuts "It Don't Mean a Thing if it Ain't Got That Swing" and "Take the A-Train" with gusto, contrasted with tender renderings of "Prelude to a Kiss" and "I've Got it Bad and that Ain't Good".
